Support your Local Government to deliver benefits and services to the community better by voting YES in the Referendum at the next Federal Election in September.

Financial Recognition of Local Government in the Constitution will go to the people's vote in a referendum to be held on the same day at the Federal Election - September 14th, 2013.

This is a significant even tor the LG Industry and it's success at the Referendum will secure certainty for the local community that their Local Government can be financially funded to provide and deliver local services to the community. Services such as Roads to Recovery and Health & Community Care (HACC)

"on 9 May 2013, the Prime Minister announced the Australian Government's intention to proceed with a referendum to recognise local government in the Constitution. The referendum will be held on the same day as the Federal Election, on September 14 this year, and will ask voters to cast a vote on "financial recognition - to enable the Commonwealth to continue to provide direct funding to local services and local communities."
