Melbourne Metropolitan Planning Strategy

The Minister for Planning has released a Discussion Paper called "Melbourne, let's talk about the future" to prompt debate around the challenges and ideas for Melbourne's future, as part of the preparation of a new Melbourne Metropolitan Planning Strategy.

The information sessions are:

• Tuesday 19 March – Council Chambers, Besgrove Street, Rosebud - 7.00-7.45pm

• Thursday 21 March – Hastings Community Hub - Multi-purpose space (downstairs) 1973 Frankston-Flinders Rd Hastings 7.00-7.45pm

• Friday 22nd March – Council Chambers, Queen Street, Mornington -7.00 – 7.45pm

• Saturday 23rd March – Flinders Civic Hall, 54-56 Cook St Flinders 1.30-2.15pm

 

The closing date for submissions is 5.00 pm Thursday 28th March, 2013.

Tootgarook Wetlands C135 Amendment to the Planning Scheme

R1038 Tootgarook Wetland (part) –12 St Elmos Close, Rosebud West Rezones from a Residential 1 Zone to a Public Conservation and Resource Zone. Protects the land from inappropriate development. 2. R1040 Former landfill areas:119 Truemans Road, Rosebud West; Applies the Environmental Audit Overlay to land that is potentially contaminated. Council adopted the inclusion of the above items in the Mornington Peninsula Planning Scheme C135 Amendment without having to go through an appointed panel process. Corner block on Jetty Rd & Pt Nepean Rd Rezoning

Planning Scheme Amendment C175 - 1A and 1B Jetty Road, Rosebud

Do you think that land on the corner of Jetty Rd & Pt Nepean Hwy, Rosebud could serve a more useful purpose?

Does the corner block need to be cleaned up or left as it is?

Council is looking to rezone the land on this corner site so that future development can include options like cafe/restaurant and apartments up to three storey. What do you think about that?

Applications to the Mornington Peninsula Planning Scheme C135 Amendments approved by Council will be on their way to the Minister soon. C135 Amendments of particular interest to the Seawinds Ward for increased land protection are: R1038 Tootgarook Wetland (part) –12 St Elmos Close, Rosebud West Rezones from a Residential 1 Zone to a Public Conservation and Resource Zone. Protects the land from inappropriate development. 2. R1040 Former landfill areas:119 Truemans Road, Rosebud West; Applies the Environmental Audit Overlay to land that is potentially contaminated.

The Rosebud Activity Centre Structure & Urban Design Plan

Great news! The Rosebud Activity Centre Structure Plan and Rosebud Activity Centre Urban Design Framework have now been approved. These now form policy documents that will be used to inform the future planning scheme amendment for the Rosebud Activity Centre and frame future precinct plans. Another step forward towards bringing life back to run down Rosebud and making it a vibrant town that the community will be proud to be a part of. "Creating livable townships that encourage social, recreational and economical benefits to our community"

Geotechnical Report for Foreshore Reserve

The Southern Peninsula Aquatic Centre Geotechnical Investigation has now been completed for the Rosebud Foreshore Reserve at the location for where SPA (Southern Peninsula Aquatic centre) is to be built. The investigation into the suitability of the site has worked well to provide information and advice towards future Environmentally Sustainable Designs so that the community of Rosebud and the Southern Peninsula can have a state of the art pool built for all to enjoy. "Creating public spaces for recreational and sporting activities"

Interim Green Wedge Management Plan

The interim Green Wedge Mangement Plan is a planning and policy document. The document is an invaluable tool that can be used by communuty as a guide to what can be done or not done in the Green Wedge on the Mornington Peninsula. This document especially helps inform landowners, developers, food growers, farmers, tourism operators what is possible or specific constraints that may apply to any plans they may be considering for their land located in the Green Wedge. "Guarding our Green Wedge and enforcing planning controls to avoid inappropriate land use"
