Who has received ward discretionary funding?

"Caring for Our Community"

Over the last two years community groups in the Truemans Ward have caught Cr Antonella Celi's attention as needing just a bit of extra assistance. The following amounts have been allocated to the following community groups who have pro-actively sought to raise funds so they could continue to provide invaluable services and programs to our community.

■Fight4Life Youth Club tailors diversional fitness programs for disadvantaged young people. $2000 was donated to the Club to purchase much needed sporting equipment

■Play Equipment for Vern Wright Recreational Reserve. $3,598 was allocated to the play equipment to match community fund raising efforts through Community Renewal initiatives.

■Rosebud Heart Junior Soccer received $1,000 so they could assist socially disadvantaged familities to provide opportunities for their children to play Soccer, the amount will help subsidise the cost of uniforms and equipment for each child.

■Respect Mural @ Eastbourne Primary was allocated $3,000 to purchase paints and materials to assist with the completion of the mural by one of our local artists on behalf of all the students at the school.

■Olympic Oval Rosebud was allocated $5,000 as a contribution towards completing the building of their new Netball Courts. - "Creating Open Spaces for Recreational and Sporting Activities"

■3940Arts Women's Art Program who has received $3000 towards the "my body, my home" project. A program that encourages social gathering and friendships amongst women in the community who are experiencing social isolation or disadvantage. "Promoting community safety, health and Wellbeing initiatives"

■"Youth to Youth Cultural Exchange to Timor L'Este" was allocated $2,000 towards this initiative being undertaken by Rosebud Secondary School to raise funds to send Year 12 students on a cultural exchange to Timor L'Este.
