Missing Bay Trail Link: Anthony's Nose

With a length of 750m, the existing track along the seawall just beyond Anthony's Nose boat ramp is one of the significant "missing links" in the Peninsula Bay Trail - Priority Trail Link 2 section.

I am committed to making sure the Coastal and Traffic Management Teams at the Shire set up a working group of stakeholders and community representative to investigate the concepts to link the Bay Trail from McCrae to Dromana that also incorporates a safe all abilities shared pathway width for all users to access.

This is but one missing link that forms 111km of the Peninsula Bay Trail , one of the most scenic trails in Victoria and takes in views of Western Port and Port Phillip bays, Cape Schanck and the Port of Hastings.

The Peninsula Bay Trail has four major sections of "missing links:" that require a total funding of $15M to complete the entire circuit.

To complete the missing links a total of :

  • $4.5M required for the Southern Peninsula Bay Trail
  • $4M required for Somervile to Baxter Trail ($2M fundedby the Federal Government 2019)
  • $6.5M Mornington to Moorooduc Trail

Advocacy for State and Federal funding to assist in completing the "missing" Peninsula Bay trail links continues to form part of the Shire's $320M Economic Stimulus rescue package to help our region recover from the devastating impacts of Covid-19 on our economy and employment in the region.

Let's make it happen for Seawinds Ward and the Mornington Peninsula.

Vote 1 CELI, Antonella for Seawinds
