Update on Landfill Application: Council Decision on EPA Works Approval.

Note: Council is yet to determine on a Permit Application.

COUNCIL DECISION

Moved: Cr. Martin Seconded: Cr. Rodgers

That Council notifies the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) of the following:

1. Based on the information contained in the Works Approval application WA72215 at the old Pioneer Quarry, Council does not support the application as it is presented, for the reasons in the report.

2. The Council considers that the EPA should ask for further information from Peninsula Waste Management as set out in the Council officer’s report and this information should be attached to the Council’s response. This further information should include an assessment as to whether the proposal complies with each specific requirement of the Best Practice Environmental Management and the principles of the Environment Protection Act 1970.
